The Langham Estate appoints new CEO

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Malcolm Pugh to the position of Chief Executive Office.

Malcolm’s relationship with the Estate spans over two decades. Formerly an advisor to us since 2000, Malcolm joined our team in 2011 as Financial Controller, before taking on the position of Finance Director in 2012, and has held the position of COO since 2022. Since joining, Malcolm has been instrumental to a number of property acquisitions across our UK portfolio.

Malcolm’s appointment to CEO comes at a hugely exciting time in our evolution as we deliver on a £50million investment programme that will restore a number of our heritage buildings to create dynamic new points of interests for the area.

Under Malcolm’s leadership, we will work even closer with our neighbours across Fitzrovia and the West End, to ensure this corner of the capital remains a world-class destination and a pillar of innovation and creativity.

Malcolm said:  “It is truly an exciting time for me to take over the reins as Chief Executive Officer of one of London’s great estates, not least as we bring our updated business strategy to fruition, and work with the area’s esteemed partners to further enhance the experience for visitors and workers. Despite inflation, London’s West End has retained its crown as Britain’s shopping capital, with weekly footfall increases surpassing double-digits in Q4 of last year. Coupled with consistently high demand for high-quality office space, this points to a very bright outlook for the district’s future.

Phil Hardie, Chair at The Langham Estate, adds: “Having worked closely with Malcolm for the past 12 years, there is no doubt in my mind that he is the right person to help take the Estate forward in this next chapter of our evolution. Over that time his unwavering commitment to the success and future of the Estate, and his extensive knowledge of the business, of the industry, and of the West End, has made him an invaluable part of our Senior leadership team.”
