We’ve grabbed our Côte …

Niche French restaurant chain Côte Brasserie has leased a new Flagship Restaurant situated over ground floor and basement at Portland House, which is located in the heart of Market Place on The Langham Estate.

Côte will carry out a comprehensive refurbishment, which takes inspiration from a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros that populate Paris.

There has been a resurgence of interest in simple bistro cooking in Paris as locals turn away from expensive and over complicated cooking in formal restaurants to return to the basics of French cuisine.

Their menu will offer classics dishes such as steak frites, moules marinières, corn fed chicken from the heart of rural Brittany, alongside lighter dishes such as Tuna Nicoise, chargrilled fresh tuna steak on classic Niçoise salad with French beans, cherry tomatoes, black olives, peppers, new potatoes, egg, baby gem lettuce and red onion. Crème caramel and crème brulee are house specialities for dessert.

When it opens, Côte will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and will offer regular changing seasonal specials. The atmosphere is informal and friendly. Côte won the Good Food Guide award for “Best Value Restaurant in the UK for 2009”.
